I grew up in rural Hessen and have been living in Darmstadt since 2012. After an apprentice as architectural draftsmen I studied architecture at TU Darmstadt. I developed a strong focus on computational design and especially how digital tools can shape architectural thinking, design processes, and collaboration across disciplines.
My work is transitions between the intersections of architecture, data, and software. I am particularly interested in how digital technologies reshape the way we describe, reason about, and operate on the built environment, from parametric geometry and BIM to knowledge graphs, research data infrastructures, and AI-supported workflows. Alongside hands-on development, I am interested in technology-related architectural theory and in research-driven approaches to building digital tools.
Curriculum Vitae
2009–2012
I started my professional career with an apprenticeship as an architectural draftsman, where I learned the fundamentals of architectural planning and technical drawing.
2012–2020
I studied architecture at TU Darmstadt, where I gained a broad education in design, construction, and architectural theory. During my studies, I focused on computational design and digital fabrication at the Digital Design Unit, where I also worked for four years as a student assistant, supporting teaching and working on digital design workflows. Internship in 2017 at LAVA, Berlin.
2019–2021
After and alongside my studies, I co-founded FloorPlanMatch, a startup that focused on data-driven architectural search and floor plan configuration. The startup was supported by the Hessen Ideen scholarship program.
2020–2024
I worked at the Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Darmstadt exploring digital process chains in the built-environment domain. This included the development of workflows for managing, documenting, and publishing structured data for research and engineering contexts in collaboration with the ICD Stuttgart.
Projects: Fachinformationsdienst BAUdigital (2020–2023). NFDI4Ing (2023–2024).
2010–today
I am working independently as a freelancer, developing custom digital tools and workflows for design and production contexts. This included building automated geometry pipelines, configurators, and visualization workflows. See Work for more details.
2024-today
I currently work at ekkodale GmbH in Wiesbaden as a Requirements Engineer in software development for the AEC-sector.
Beyond Work
I like open-source software and open standards. I am a father of a daughter. I own a VW Golf 2 GT Special. I play non-professional darts and badminton. I enjoy cooking. I listen to metalcore and hardcore music.
